The EIT Digital Venture Program has just announced the opening of registrations for the 2023 edition of its support program for startups and entrepreneurs, which this year accepts residents in 22 European countries, including Portugal.
With more than 200 supported entrepreneurs and 124 startups launched, several of which quickly gained high-profile investments and clients, the EIT Digital Venture Program, launched six years ago, is designed to help entrepreneurial teams from the Baltics, Eastern and Southern Europe from their start-up phase and on their way to market, having a track record of success.
This year, the program continues to grow. The 2023 edition is now also open to teams in Spain, Italy and Hungary. With the addition of these three major markets, the EIT Digital Venture Program now accepts applications from residents of 22 European countries – including Portugal (see full list here).
Selected teams will have access to an intensive eight-week pre-acceleration program and receive training specifically on how to develop their Minimum Viable Product (MVP), establish their startup and raise funds from investors.
In the last “Pitch Days”, teams will have the opportunity to validate their business solution by presenting it to early investors, potential customers and specialists from the IT community.
All teams will initially receive €5,000 in support, with an additional €10,000 for those who complete the program and incorporate their startup.
Finally, the first ten teams that obtain at least 50,000 euros in funds from private investors by the end of November will be entitled to a prize of 10,000 euros, for a total of 25,000 euros in support by EIT Digital.

“In its 6th edition, the EIT Digital Venture Program is a proven opportunity for early stage entrepreneurial teams to establish their IT business and join Europe’s largest digital innovation ecosystem. I am excited to see where this next generation of entrepreneurs will take us, with the support and resources they will receive,” says Mirko Tadic, EIT Digital Venture Program Director.
In Spain, Italy and Hungary, the Venture Program will run with the support of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), Dock3 (Italy) and Lunar (Hungary), joining a pre-existing group of seven regional partners: BGI in Portugal , Found.ation in Greece, Techcelerator in Romania, KTP in Poland, JIC in Czech Republic and Slovakia, SEB in Slovenia and LIC in Lithuania.
