The Mexican Edson Álvarez is going through his best football moment. Unchangeable in Ajax Amsterdam’s starting lineup despite the recent change of coach, the former Club América continues to be targeted by several teams in the English Premier League.
On every day of the Eredivisie, the first division of the Netherlands, the versatile Mexican midfielder draws applause from his fanswho, unlike former soccer player Wesley Sneijder (who seems to have something personal against Edson Álvarez), recognizes the great defensive work he does in the starting team of a club that seeks to be champions again.
Since last year several teams have shown interest in the 25-year-old Mexican, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, the latter led by Erik ten Hag, the coach who requested and promoted him since his arrival in the Netherlands.
Despite the fact that the 22-23 campaign is not yet over, several squads are already preparing what will be the next one and Edson Álvarez, due to his age, talent and physical box-to-box abilities, is an important piece to strengthen himself.
Specifically, there is talk of Liverpool, Newcastle and again Arsenal, the teams that are already probing to add the Mexican when the European market opens.
Of all the closest is Newcastle, which has already sent scouts to see Edson Álvarez up close in his weekend duels, reported English journalist Ben Jacobs.
He also advanced that Edson Álvarez did not leave Ajax in this winter market because the club itself refused to lose one of its main pieces in the middle of the season.
