dstelecom has just made its debut in the Central Region of the country by extending its fiber optic network to more than 100,000 homes, spread across 17 municipalities.
By the end of the year, dstelecom will bring optical fiber to 9 more municipalities in the Center Region, including Condeixa-a-Nova and Castelo Branco – still in the first half of this year – covering a total of 176 thousand homes.
At the moment, the company guarantees that around 725,000 homes, from the north to the south of the country, have the opportunity to have access to the fiber network, already distributed in half of the municipalities of the mainland and, according to the company, with this pace of growth , the digital highway should reach more than 900 thousand families by the end of the year.
With regard to the Center Region, dstelecom is already present in the municipalities of Abrantes, Águeda, Albergaria-a-Velha, Anadia, Belmonte, Cantanhede, Celorico da Beira, Covilhã, Fundão, Figueira da Foz, Guarda, Gouveia, Ourém, Pombal, Soure, Tomar and Tondela.
For Ricardo Salgado, CEO of dstelecom, the Center’s growth strategy is in line with the company’s purpose of “improving the quality of life of populations, ensuring connectivity and thus contributing to a better, more equitable and just society”. ”.
“It is essential to continue to reduce regional asymmetries and promote access to digital media throughout the territory. The digital world cannot be a privilege of large urban centers and, for this very reason, we remain committed to bringing the digital highway to as many homes as possible”, reinforces the head of dstelecom.
