If you go to the App Store right now, you’ll see ads when you go to the ‘Search’ tab; search for any app and you will see that in the ‘Search Results’ there are also ads. However, they are the only two sections where there are advertising spaces inside the store; now Apple believes there should be more.
As 9To5Mac reports, the company is expanding its ad space. The two new spaces will be located, one in the ‘Today’ tab (today), the first one you see when entering the app store and the other in the product pages. The company said this will allow developers to grow more.
“Apple Search Ads provides opportunities for developers of all sizes to grow their business. Like our other advertising offerings, these new ad placements are built on the same foundation: They will only contain content from apps’ approved App Store product pages and adhere to the same rigorous privacy standards.”

On the ‘Today’ page it will be located in the second box of the tab, so it will be immediately visible. Now, as for the product pages; app developers will be able to purchase ad space at the bottom of other apps’ pages. While the ads won’t be purchasable to show on specific apps, Apple will show them on “relevant products.” That said, you’ll likely find Twitter in the apps at the bottom of the TweetDeck page.
Apple maintains that the rest of the ‘Today’ section will continue to focus on discovery and curation. To do this, the ads will continue to be labeled as ads. Even so, the safest thing is that advertising in these new spaces will be much more expensive, since the visibility will be even greater. The ads will go into testing soon but exact dates were not specified.
