The arrival of Diego Lainez to Tigres de la UANL generated great expectations in the feline group. The club made a great effort to bring “Factor” and the feline institution must recover the best level of the former Sporting Braga player. For Lainez to gain confidence, he needs minutes and this would directly harm Sebastián Córdova.
The 25-year-old midfielder has lost prominence within the feline team. Since Córdova’s arrival at the club, the former player of the Águilas del América has not been able to establish himself in the headline. With the arrival of Lainez, a teammate in the Mexican National Team who went to Tokyo 2020, Córdova’s chances would be lower.
According to information from Touch Filtered, Córdova had even had conversations with Diego Cocca to have more minutes on the field. But Tigres de la UANL would see the Mexican as an expendable piece. In fact, The same source points out that there is a possibility that the Aztec will leave the team.
It is worth remembering that Córdova arrived at the club from the Eagles of America for $6 million dollars. With a contract that still has a year and a half in force, the signing of the Mexican would not have been very profitable for the club. The Aztec has played 35 games in the feline team and has only been able to score 4 goals and grant 6 assists.
