- Tractional Alopecia / by Traction: this is a hair loss caused by the use of certain hairstyles or accessories, such as hats or tight caps.
- Traumatic Alopecia: hair loss can also be related to a fungal infection, caused by a parasite, and is more frequent in childhood.
Causes and Diagnosis
Alopecia may be associated with an external factor such as stress, depression and anxiety🇧🇷 post childbirth; bad eating habits; dysfunctions in thyroid🇧🇷 medication (for hypertension and for the cholesterol, for example); or surgeries. In these cases, there may be a decrease in the number of hairs, which may vary in intensity or duration.
In other situations, alopecia may be related to damage to a part of the follicle, which may have a genetic origin or be caused by inflammatory and infectious diseases or even common baldness. In these cases, there is even room for the death of hair cells.
Whenever you register hair loss above normal or for no apparent reason, you should visit a dermatologist in order to understand what is going on. Only a specialist is able to properly examine the hair and scalp, and may resort to tests such as trichoscopy to determine the origin, severity and most appropriate therapy for each case.
Treatments
There are a number of possible types of treatment, including:

Initially, this transplanted hair will fall out, later reborn, already with a more natural appearance. This procedure takes about 4 to 5 hours. One of its possible side effects is swelling of the eyelids 2 to 4 days after the transplant.
Prevention
Although alopecia may have a genetic cause or be associated with the aging process itself, there are habits that it is important to adopt throughout life and that can contribute to stronger and more nourished hair.
