New turn of events trial against Dani Alves. On this occasion, the Brazilian footballer confessed that there was a sexual act between him and the alleged victimwhich represents the fourth change in his version since he was placed in pretrial detention in January for risk of flight.
Spanish media covering the case revealed that Alves, 39, told the judge that he did have sexual intercourse the night of December 31, 2022 at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona with the woman who two days later denounced him before the Catalan Justice.
However, the Brazilian defends himself by assuring that it was “consensual sex” and not assault or rape as the girl maintains in her complaint.
The Spanish journalist Carlos Quilezof antenna 3explained that in this way the version of the alleged victim “is credible from the point of view that she speaks of rape with penetration and ejaculation.”
While the defense of Dani Alves, led by the famous Venezuelan-Spanish lawyer Cristóbal Martell, seeks to get him out of preventive detention and for the trial to take place with him released, the plaintiff asked the Barcelona Court to keep him in prison due to flight risk.
Ester García, the victim’s lawyer, presented a letter on Thursday before the Barcelona Court in which she opposes the appeal presented by the footballer’s defense that sought the annulment of his imprisonment.
