Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez took the floor this Tuesday at a press conference to talk about his fight against John Ryder at the Akron Stadium and warned that he is motivated for his next battle in the presence of his compatriots.
The speech was chaired by the governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, Mauricio Sulaimán, president of the World Boxing Council, the trainer of the Aztec fighter Eddy Reynoso, the British boxer with his staff and Saúl Álvarez.
In his speech, ‘Canelo’ talked a bit about everything and did not let the topic of his recent wrist injury and surgery escape. The fighter insisted that the sensations are good and launched a spicy warning message that moved those present.
“I feel ready. I come back from surgery, I feel happy and enthusiastic, I have been training and I feel good, I feel more motivated than ever and Be careful with that, because as Eddy says: ‘When the güero is motivated, he’s pissed off.’ So watch out. I feel grateful to John Ryder. See you on May 6.”

When the round of questions for the present media was activated, ‘Canelo’ was questioned about his rival and highlighted some of the European’s qualities. “He is a left-handed fighter, very seasoned, strong, he has given great fights to great fighters, he comes from beating Jacobs. He is careful, he hits hard, his guard complicates it a bit more, but at this point one has to adapt to everything ”.

Return to Mexico
The native of Guadalajara was happy to return to fight at home after 12 years despite the various offers he had to fight in other venues. “Very happy to return to my land after 12 years. After having achieved so much. Very grateful to Alfaro for the facilities they gave us to be able to be here fighting, at the (Akron) stadium, ”he said.
“The first thing I want is for people who can’t buy a ticket, who can’t go see me in Las Vegas, to have the chance to see me here in Guadalajara,” he added.
