Mary Phillips, a makeup artist who has worked with both Bieber and Kendall, is said to use so-called backwards makeup to get the perfect base. In a video that has gone viral on TikTok, beauty expert Tara Sigari explains how it all works.
This is how you succeed with backwards makeup
According to Sigari, it is the application of contour before the rest of the base that gives Kendall and Bieber that sculpted look with lots of glow. In the video, Sigari shows how she starts by marking the jaw and cheekbones with a contour stick. She blends the product with a make-up brush.
She continues by applying concealer, which she then blends out with a make-up sponge. Finally, she applies foundation with a large fluffy brush.
The result? A perfect, light make-up that does not settle into the fine lines of the face, but instead gives a natural look with lots of glow.
