Controversial influencer Andrew Tate, who recently had a public conflict with Greta Thunberg on Twitter, has been arrested in Romania. BBC reports that Tate and his brother Tristan have been under investigation since April of this year and are suspected of rape and human trafficking.

According to reports, the two, together with two Romanian nationals, appear to have created an organized criminal group with the aim of recruiting and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic material that could be viewed on special websites for a fee.

Mocked by Elon Musk on Twitter

Tate is currently suspended from Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok. He has previously also been suspended from Twitter after publishing racist and homophobic posts, but regained his account in connection with Elon Musk’s takeover of the platform last fall.

Since the arrest in Romania, Tate himself appears to have commented on the incident with a post on Twitter that read:

“Matrix sent its agents.”

According to the British newspaper Daily Mail It now appears that Elon Musk is mocking the influencer with his latest post on the platform – a picture showing Keanu Reeves’ character in the Matrix movies with the caption:

“What if I told you that the only way to escape the Matrix was to forget everything you’ve been taught and remake your entire belief system using critical thinking and analysis.”
