Jackson, Tennessee boxer Greer Marquez ended up throwing up in the ring at Gadsden’s The Venue at Coosa Landing in Alabama after taking a punch from Marquis Williams in a fight that ended by KO.
The event arose last Sunday and through social networks the clip where the 26-year-old boxer vomited after receiving a left-right combination from the debutant went viral. The video was broadcast on Twitter by the Tim Boxeo account.
After this combination, the referee of the match asked Williams to go to his corner to assist his opponent, but when he turned around he found that Márquez was on his knees vomiting. It was there when he decided to decree the KO and stop the fight.
This fact caused surprise in many sectors of the press. One of the commentators who recounted the fight suggested a possible picture of indigestion as the cause of nausea.
“It looks like he’s vomiting, you’re talking about a bad case of indigestion,” said a rapporteur. For its part, the British outlet ‘The Sun’ echoed the news and reported that “incredibly, Márquez Greer knelt very quickly, but seemed to vomit at least twice.”
Apparently, Williams took the fight by medical technical knockout, after the incident with Márquez, which reached 15 consecutive defeats, in which 14 were by KO and 13 of them in the first round.
