The third season of The Boys hasn’t been on Amazon for more than a week and the streaming service has already made the decision to renew it for one more season.
“Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew, we are so grateful to Sony, Amazon and most of all, the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to do more,” said Eric Kripke, showrunner for The Boys. “We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the crazy world we live in. Also, this is the first time in history that genitalia explosion has led to greater success.”
Little surprise Amazon’s decision to give The Boys one more season. The show is today one of its most successful franchises. In fact, in addition to the fourth season announced today, we know that Amazon is working on a spinoff centered on Vough’s university in which the heroes are ‘prepared’ to be recruited by large cities. The platform also invested in an animated anthology, ‘The Boys: Diabolical’, as we know that there are talks in other projects to continue expanding this universe.

The Boys released the first three episodes of the third season this past Friday, June 3 with new episodes available every Friday. The new season will have eight chapters, so we will have one more month of the show before what, Amazon has promised, will be its “epic finale” on July 8. According to figures shared by the streaming service, during the first three days of its third season, The Boys’ worldwide audience has grown +17% since the second season and +234% since the first.
