The world of soccer in Brazil is in shock due to the death of the 21-year-old goalkeeper, Jian Kayo Gomes, who was found without vital signs at his home, according to what his team reported on social networks.
“With great sadness and dismay, Ituano FC announces the death of athlete JIAN KAYO GOMES SOARES. His body was found dead at his house on Saturday night,” they wrote on Twitter.
For its part, Sao Paulo also joined the lamenting messages. “With great regret and dismay, São Paulo FC mourns the death of goalkeeper Jian Kayo, who passed through the #MadeInCotia base and was in Ituano. Our condolences and solidarity to the family, friends and Ituano, wishing that they all find strength in this moment of pain”.
The causes of death remain unknown. El Ituano, belonging to the second division, stated that they would offer more details about the case as soon as they have the information. The young goalkeeper “was found lifeless, at his residence, on Saturday night.”
Who was Jian Kayo?
The player was born in 2002 and in 2021 he was signed by Ituano, where he became a starter for the Under-20 team in the Paulista Championship. For this season he was going to play in the first team, with which he would play the second division in search of promotion to the first.
Kayo had not managed to debut as a professional and this year was his consecration. The goalkeeper was formed by the Sao Paulo youth system.
