This legume is one of the foods that you should always have in your pantry, as in addition to being very useful and cheap, it stimulates the good bowel function and, in gastronomic terms, it is possible to make a series of chickpea recipes🇧🇷
Chickpea recipes also contribute to a balanced diet, providing more or less quick, more or less complex meals.
This is a product not only appreciated in Portugal, as we all know international delicacies made with this legume. Who doesn’t love, for example, hummus (Arabic pasta) or falafel (Middle Eastern dumplings)? They are made from chickpeas.

Tuna, Chickpea and Boiled Egg Salad

Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 can of tuna
- olives qb
- chickpeas cookedgone qb
- THElface qb
- Salad dressing, to taste
preparation mode
- Put the egg to boil. Reserve.
- Rinse the lettuce leaves as desired.
- Wash well and place in a salad bowl.
- Drain the tuna and spread over the lettuce.
- Add the olives.
- Wash and add the chickpeas.
- Cut the egg into thin slices and spread over the grain.
- Season with a specific dressing for salads or opt for the classic olive oil and vinegar to taste.
Rice with chickpeas and chicken

Ingredients
- 1kg chicken (skinless and sliced) and seasoned with salt and juice of 1/2 lemon
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 large onion
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 2 cups of rice
- 1 cup of chickpeas
- 3 c. oil soup
- 2 c. butter soup.
- 1 c. Syrian spice tea (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and pepper mix)
- salt, to taste
preparation mode
- Soak the chickpeas overnight.
- Cook the beans in the pressure cooker for 15 minutes. Reserve.
- Place the oil, onion, garlic and butter in a pan.
- Wait until the onion is golden.
- Put the chicken to sauté, add the Syrian seasoning and let it get golden.
- Place the chickpeas on top of the chicken and the rice on top of the chickpeas.
- Dilute the chicken stock in the water in which you cooked the chickpeas and pour over the rice.
- Without stirring, allow it to cook and wait for it to boil.
- Taste to test the flavor and, if necessary, adjust the seasonings.
- When the rice is properly cooked, place it on a large platter and serve.
Cod flakes with chickpeas

Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 2 pieces of soaked cod
- 1 onion
- 1 can of cooked chickpeas
- Olive oil and salt qb
- Olives and chopped parsley, to taste
preparation mode
- Cook the cod in a pan with water.
- Drain and wait for it to cool, so you can break it up into slivers.
- Remove skins and pimples. Reserve.
- Pour the contents of the can with chickpeas into a pan drizzled with a drizzle of olive oil and add a chopped onion. Let it boil for 5 minutes.
- Cook the eggs separately.
- Then, rinse with cold water, peel and cut into slices. Reserve.
- Combine all the ingredients in a salad bowl: the flaked cod, the egg slices and the chickpeas.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and season with vinegar and oil.
- Gently fold in before serving.
