When you need a simple and filling snack, almond and other nut butters are the perfect choice.
Nuts contain a lot of energy, but thanks to their high fat and protein content, you keep your blood sugar levels in check and you feel full for longer.
In fact, two tablespoons of almond butter contain over ten percent of your daily fiber needs, healthy fats plus seven grams of muscle-building protein. Nutritious building blocks that also increase the body’s metabolism. But it doesn’t stop there: Almond butter is rich in energy-boosting iron, which will help you crush whatever workout comes your way. You can either buy or make your own butter by mixing almonds and possibly a little salt. Or you can make this luxury version with, among other things, coconut oil, vanilla powder and sweetener for those who want it.
